Gir National Park The last home of the Asiatic Lion. The majestic Asiatic Lion once roamed a vast area reaching from Europe to Eastern Asia. The highly endangered species now SOLELY exists in this park that was once the royal hunting ground. Spanning approximately 545 square miles, the park's undulating terrain is characterized by a mixture of deciduous forests, scrubland, grasslands, and rocky hills. The flora is as diverse as the fauna, with teak, acacia, and banyan trees dotting the landscape. These varied habitats support a wide array of wildlife, making Sasan Gir a biodiversity hotspot.
The Last Asiatic Lions Sasan Gir's network of perennial rivers and streams traverse the park, ensuring that even in the arid summer months, the wildlife has access to necessary hydration. Besides the Asiatic lion, which numbers over 500, Sasan Gir is home to leopards, hyenas, and marsh crocodiles. Maldhari Tribes The significance of Sasan Gir extends beyond its wildlife. The Maldhari tribes, traditional pastoralists, have coexisted with the park's wildlife for generations. From the vibrant Indian pitta and the elusive crested serpent eagle to the majestic lesser adjutant stork, the avian diversity is staggering. The park's rivers and lakes attract a variety of waterfowl, making it an ideal spot for birdwatching.

Day 1: Arrive at Delhi
Most flights arrive either in the evening or at night, and we recommend that our guests consider arriving a day earlier as this allows you to recuperate from jetlag, and serves as insurance against international flight delays and cancellations. An additional night’s hotel stay can be added at the time of reservation.
Welcome to India, home to some of the world’s most exotic wildlife, over 500 National Wildlife Parks and Sanctuaries, incredible historical monuments, and the world’s most colorful culture. Our services begin when you are met by an Easy Tours Travel Facilitator and ushered to a chauffeur driven vehicle.
You are now driven to your luxury hotel, the Oberoi Gurgaon, and assisted with your check-in. Check-in is available from 2 pm onward – slightly earlier arrivals may be able to get an earlier check-in, or you can park your baggage with the bell desk and use the hotel facilities until check-in. The next day's plans are briefly reviewed and, if you so desire, you are given an introduction to the features, tools, and functions on the Easy Tours App, which can be downloaded on your phone, tablet, or laptop. (Overnight – Oberoi Gurgaon)
Day 2: Delhi – Jabalpur – Bandhavgarh National Park. (B)
You are assisted with your check-out from your hotel in the morning and driven to the airport where you are assisted with boarding your early afternoon flight to Jabalpur. Your Accompanying Guide travels with you and upon arrival at Jabalpur, you are driven about 3.5 hours to Bandhavgarh where you are assisted with your check-in to Mahua Kothi, a Taj Safari Lodge. All 3 meals are included at the lodge.
Nestled in the Vindhya Range amid Bandhavgarh National Park—statistically India's best park for tiger sightings—Mahua Kothi is named after the mahua tree, revered throughout the region for its spiritual and ecological significance and as the source of the local rural liquor. This distinguished forest lodge is part of Taj Safaris, one of the specialty luxury divisions of Taj Hotels, and sprawls across 45 acres of private forest overlooking bamboo thickets and grasslands where wildlife moves freely.
The central lodge is a brick structure with expansive verandas designed for birdwatching and immersing yourself in the sounds of the jungle. Mahua Kothi maintains a light ecological footprint while offering contemporary luxury—standalone cottages or kutiyas provide enthralling raw views and rustic detailing without compromising comfort.
Between twice-daily safaris with knowledgeable naturalists, explore the organic vegetable garden, cycle the grounds, enjoy the uniquely shaped pool, or recharge with a spa treatment. The impeccably trained staff focuses on your individual needs, ensuring every detail enhances your connection to this wild landscape where tigers rule and the scent of the forest pervades everything.
Your Accompanying Guide can arrange a variety of experiences including visits to local villages, interactions with traditional artisans and craftspeople, excursions to historic sites in the region, and drives to scenic spots in the surrounding countryside.
Bandhavgarh National Park Bandhavgarh almost always results in multiple tiger sightings over your 5 safaris here. The park is home to a variety of wildlife including leopards, sloth bears, Indian bison (gaur), sambar deer, barking deer, and langurs.

Enjoy your last safari into the park this morning. After this you will return to your lodge to freshen up and enjoy breakfast. You are assisted with your check-out and driven through jungles and rural areas to Kanha Tiger Reserve. A packed lunch is provided by your lodge for the journey.
Easy Tours recommends that, while planning your dates, you keep in mind the fact that there are no safaris on Wednesday afternoons at Bandhavgarh and Kanha. So, this 5-hour jungle drive should ideally be scheduled for a Wednesday. However, if this is not possible, your Accompanying Guide can arrange activities such as village walks or visits to local craft workshops.
Arrive at Kanha, the setting for Kipling's Jungle Book, and you are assisted with your check-in to Banjaar Tola, a Taj Safari Lodge.
Along the banks of the forested Banjaar River, nestled deep in tiger territory and adjoining Kanha National Park—what many consider Asia's finest park—Banjaar Tola transforms wilderness living into an art. Sunlight filters through towering sal trees, grasslands are dotted with limpid pools, and the landscape provides dramatic encounters with nature at every turn.
This luxurious lodge allows you to commune with the wild in an evocative atmosphere that emphasizes sustainability and sensory immersion. Two elegant camps of nine tents each feature terraced lounges, pools, and interiors adorned with Gond artwork and Bastar bell metal work highlighting local tribal culture. Awaken to the sound of the gushing river as dedicated butlers attend to your every need.
The organic garden, dining decks, and intimate sitting areas invite you to slow down. Revel in the magnificent outdoor pool and immerse yourself in the majesty of a jungle where nature thrives and the barasingha—saved from extinction here—still roams free.

You are assisted with your checkout in the mid-morning and driven the short distance to the airport where you will board the short noon flight to Diu.
Your Accompanying Guide travels with you and upon arrival at the small Diu Airport, you are driven about 2 hours to Sasan Gir National Park and assisted with check in to Aramness Gir National Park. All 3 meals are included at your lodge while at Sasan Gir National Park.
Situated on the fringe of Sasan Gir National Park in Gujarat—the last refuge of the Asiatic lion on Earth—Aramness Gir is the only true luxury lodging near the park and our two preferred main entrances. Its name derives from the union of aram, meaning rest or peace in Gujarati, and ness, the word for local Maldhari villages. The property sits within protected teak forest where abundant wildlife roams freely between the park and lodge.
Aramness takes inspiration from the characteristic local village of Haripur, with central cobbled streets fringed by courtyard homes or kothis. Your Kothi is a private villa where natural forest and meadow gardens merge seamlessly with architecture—the intricate jali screens were inspired by light piercing through the perforations of a dried sal leaf. Each Kothi features a personal plunge pool, open-air courtyards, and interiors flooded with natural light and space.

Besides the Asiatic lion, which numbers over 500, Sasan Gir is home to leopards, hyenas, and marsh crocodiles. The park also supports a healthy population of herbivores like spotted deer, sambar deer, nilgai (blue bull), and chinkara (Indian gazelle).
Birdwatchers will delight in the over 300 species of birds recorded here, including the crested serpent eagle, great horned owl, and various species of vultures.
Maldhari Tribes The significance of Sasan Gir extends beyond its wildlife. The Maldhari tribes, traditional pastoralists, have coexisted with the park's wildlife for generations. Their presence adds a unique cultural dimension to the park, as they continue to live in harmony with the natural world, herding their livestock and contributing to the park's conservation efforts. (Overnight – Aramness Gir)
Day 14: Sasan Gir. (B,L,D)
Enjoy wildlife safaris into the park in the morning and afternoon. Like all of India's National Parks, safaris start in the early mornings and afternoons. This region is one of the most unique and diverse ecosystems in the world, with perennial rivers, creating a picturesque backdrop for the wildlife that inhabits the park.
The highlight of any Gir safari is undoubtedly the sighting of the majestic Asiatic lion. Unlike their African counterparts, Asiatic lions are slightly smaller, with distinctive skin folds on their bellies and shorter, less developed manes.
Birdwatchers will find Gir a paradise, with over 300 species of birds recorded in the park. From the vibrant Indian pitta and the elusive crested serpent eagle to the majestic lesser adjutant stork, the avian diversity is staggering. The park's rivers and lakes attract a variety of waterfowl, making it an ideal spot for birdwatching.
The park is surrounded by numerous Maldhari tribal villages. As at your earlier parks, your Accompanying Guide can arrange visits to these villages where the Maldharis—traditional pastoralists who live in harmony with the wildlife—offer a unique insight into the region's anthropological heritage through their distinctive culture, traditional practices, and harmonious coexistence with nature. (Overnight – Aramness Gir)
